C'è un episodio nella storia dell'Msi che sembra fatto apposta per tentare di spiegare cosa stia succedendo oggi nel Fli: è quello di Democrazia Nazionale - Costituente di Destra, partito politico nato nel febbraio 1977 (ma solo in Parlamento) dalla omonima corrente moderata del Msi-Dn. Sotto il profilo politico, la rottura fu motivata con l’indisponibilità di Giorgio Almirante a sostenere in Parlamento il governo monocolore di Andreotti, detto della “non sfiducia”. A giudizio degli esponenti demonazionali, l’astensione would rather avoid the acceleration of the convergence process between the DC and PCI.
